Who Pays International Duties, Taxes, and Brokerage Fees?

Import charges can be confusing because they are usually collected separately from the Subimods checkout.

The Short Answer

For orders delivered outside the United States, the recipient is generally responsible for import duties, taxes, brokerage fees, disbursement fees, and other destination-country or carrier charges unless Subimods expressly states otherwise.

Why These Charges Are Separate

Governments and carriers determine these amounts based on the destination, product classification, declared value, and local rules. Subimods does not control the final assessment.

Before You Order

Review your country’s import requirements and the carrier’s brokerage practices. Refusing a shipment does not automatically eliminate the charges and may result in return costs or deductions from any available refund.
